StarCraft Library
Bookshelves line opposite walls, reaching from ceiling to floor. A thick stripe of red runs around the room on the walls where they meet the ceiling, silver eight-pointed stars showing the StarCraft's symbol. A few tables are centered in the room for studying and soft chairs are scattered around for those who aren't at the tables. In one corner, a large chair stands with more chairs in a semi-circle around it, a setup suggesting that classes might be taught there. Another corner boasts a potted plant, bright and green due to the careful work of an apprentice or two.
OOC: Feel free to read any book in here, but don't take them with you for too long, and please put them back when you're done. (put <book> in shelf)
On the perch are Gai, Blueup, Shoobie, and Zen.
You see A Bookshelf, Constellation Globe, Model of the Rukbat System, Rolon, Dapple, Hikari, and Seily's Painting Book here.
Shanel, Kortin, and Tris are here.

Tris looks up shyly. "Yeah..." she walks soundlessly to a table. She sits down. "What am I going to be learning?" She looks up at Shanel.

A big smile lights up Shanel's face at Tris' question. Nervous she may be, but she's very excited. "Comets." Shanel picks up a ball with a ribbon tied around it for Tris to see.

Neliar walks in to the library, he looks rather surprise to see some many faces in here. "Hi Nel, Tris what are you doing here?"

Tris gingerly picks up the model and examines it carefully. She glances at Neliar and grins. Holding up the structure, she says knowingly, "Learning about comets." She stutters slightly over the foriegn word.

Shanel nods her head in the general direction of Kortin. "I'm going to teach Tris about comets." She grins her eyes sparkling. "So Tris, what do you know about comets?" Always a good place to start. She points to the ball, "Do you know what a comet is made of?"

Neliar grins. He can remember learning about comets only too well. He glances at Nel before taking a seat out of the way.

Tris scrunches her eyebrows. "Well, I'm assuming dat comets are d'things I see sometimes in th'sky. Dey look kinda big stars that move real slowly in the sky, only they look...brighter, I guess. What are dey made of? Hmmm..." she hesitates slowly and looks down at the model. "I'm not to sure...are they big rocks dat break of planets?" she looks up for definate answer from Shanel.

Shanel nods, delighted. "Right." She picks the model up of the table and holds it in the palm of her hand, "Comets are made of rocks and sometimes ice. The tails are probably bits of the rock that broke off and perhapes other things it picked up on the way."

Neliar is only half listening to what Nel is says the other half of him is looking over the hide placed in front of him.

Tris nods, then cocks her head in confusion. "So basically we have a big rock wit' a tail of smaller rocks that floats around above Pern? What exactly makes 'em,,stay up there like dat? What keeps 'em from dropping on Pern?" her expression turn to curiosity.

Shanel points to a place away from anything breakable. "Go stand over there. And catch." She gently tosses the model to Tris.

Neliar looks up a half smile playing on his lips.

Tris gets up and strides to the place Shanel pointed out. She raises a hand automatically to catch the model. She stares at it stupidly. "So...it just...flies?" she looks up with a muddled expression.

"Sort of." She move over to wear Tris is standing. Frowning for a moment Shanel thinks about how to explain this, " Pretend that you are Pern and I'm the comet and.....Neliar can you come here for a moment, please?"

Neliar rises to his feet, happy to be of any help. "what do you want me to do?" he asks Nel.

Shanel indicates a spot across from Tris with a wave of her hand. "You're going to be the sun." She points the model at Tris and walks around her then around Neliar. "Comets follow a path around the sun just like the planets do. Some of them do to Pern." Here she drops the model into Tris' hands. "Now, which way do the tails face when flying at the sun?"

Tris takes the model and juggles it from hand to hand as she thinks about the answer. "Away from the sun?" she says, stating the answer that made the most sense.

Tris
Shoulder-length black hair is pulled into a strict bun below her ears, with a few stubborn locks refusing to stay in the crude leather strap she uses to pull her hair back. The style makes her heart-shaped face with sunken cheek bones stand out, her gray-green eyes shaped like teardrops with the round parts facing her high-bridged nose. Her wide lips mask very wide gap in between her front teeth, an imperfection that she attempts to keep hidden at all comedic occasions. Her dark ebony skin unfortunately doesn't help concealing the defect. Abnormally tall height forces her to tilt her head downwards to meet your eyes. Uneven legs cripple her slightly, one being an obvious bit shorter. The limp disables her from riding runners properly.
A dark brown wher-hide knee skirt bares the tops of Tris' boots, which are quite simple in design but nevertheless attractive. A light aquamarine tunic brushes the top of the skirt, and the collar bares her dark neck and accents her high cheek bones. Barely noticable underneath her shirt, an old, rusty blade from her days on the ocean is suspended by its sheath, but it is rather useless for it is too rusty to be of any aid.
Tris wears the knot of a StarCraft Probationary Apprentice.
She is awake, but has been staring off into space for a minute.

Fina
Tris is 18 Turns and 3 days old.

Shanel nods happily, this is going so much better then she had hoped. "Yep. It points away from the sun, just like the ribbon pointed away from you when I through the ball."

Tris nods. "So basically a comet is like a real small planet?" she asks, looking up expectantly.

Shanel tilts her head to side considering this. Comets=planets, she'd never thought about it that way before. "Yeah, I guess you could think of it that way. Only there's no way anyone could life on a comet. Well, that's it. Any questions?"

Tris looks surprised. That was it? "Um, no. I don't think so. Thank you for teaching me, Shanel." She smiles gratefully.

Shanel hopes she covered everything. "Your welcome." She smiles at Tris, "And thank you Neliar for helping me demonstrate." A warm smile graces her lips. She takes her model and goes over to the table and begins to gather her things.

Neliar smiles, feeling his cheeks burning red as Nel thanks him. She should know by now he'll do anything for her. "you're welcome." is all he says.

Tris nods and returns the smile. She thanks Neliar as well as she strides out of the library with a spring in her step. *I did it! I did it! I did it...

Neliar smiles shyly at Nel, he doesn't know why she has this effect on him.

Shanel is oblivious and begins to hum, pleased with outcome of her first lesson. She carefully stores the hides and her model into her bag.

Neliar can't help himself. He walks behind Nel and wraps his arms around her waist, just content to be close to her for now. "You did great." he tells her referring to her teaching.

Shanel jumps as her waist is caught. "Thanks." She leans back against Neliar, enjoying the warmth of his body. For all her confusion this always feels right.

Neliar sighs as Nel relaxes against him. He loves the feel of her next to him. He bends down and gently nibbles on her ear, his arms tightening slightly around her waist. "I've missed you." he admits to her, he wishes he could spend more time with her.

Shanel lets out a small gasp as her ear is nibbled. She just can't seem to anticipate anything today. "I've missed you, too." How long had it been? Well, they'd both been busy.

Neliar feels his heart lighten as Nel admits she misses him too. He often feels that she doesn't care for him half as much as he cares her her. Encouraged by her response he continues to nibble her ear gently pulling on her earlobe. His hands straying further down from her waist. "Soon we'll be able to spend more time together." at least he hopes they will be, becoming Jman is no that far off after then how knows what might happen.

"Hmmmm." Shanel places a hand upon his face, turning it so that she can kiss him. Yeah, Journeyman. She'll wait and deal with that when it comes.

Neliar can feel his heart pounding in his chest, he has to tell her how he feels about her, but does she feel the same way about him. He raises his hands to cup her face before softly kissing her, "I love you." he admits, he can hide from it no longer, he's never felt this way about someone before.

Shanel pulls away. Completely leaving the warm, seemingly safe circle of his arm she turns to face Neliar, "You....what?" Caught somewhere between shock, fright, and astonishment, Shanel does a decent imitation of a fish, unable to come with anything remotely intellegent to say.

Neliar feels the colour drain from his face, he flounders for a moment not knowing what to say. "I'm sorry I didn't mean to tell you that." It's far to soon to tell her things like that, you fool! With that he turns tail and runs not able to cope with the fact that she doesn't love him.
