The Vault
No more than a hideaway amidst the gothic grandeur of the StarHall, this cozy lounge is a place of laughter if not greatness, warmth if not splendour. The close stone walls are insulated with tapestries of all shapes and sizes, most a little worn, several faded and a good many depicting scenes from childhood stories. The mismatched chairs and sofas are in a similar state, rescued from cellars and rubbish-heaps but perhaps more softer and more comfortable for that, scattered in a rouch circle on a hardwood floor. A low round table in the centre of the room holds cards, discarded hides, mugs, and a pot that holds klah as long as someone remembers to fill it. The one window at the back wall lets light and air into the warm, cozy room.
Scattered troughout the rooms are numerous glowbaskets. Thin hides, that would be transparant if they weren't coloured in light shades of red green and blue cast a colourfull and happy athmostphere troughout the room. Small bells and sticks, hung near the window, create soft, eerie yet comfortablly soft sounds,
On the perch are Pingouin, Teremi, Kataxia, Tas, Zaflin, Scorpy, Rygel, Cami, Lil'Topaz, Bluey, and Espero.

Mayala walks ever so softly in from the Female Apprentice Quarters.

Neliar is sitting with his feet curled up beneath him, his eyes drooping. He's suddenly wakened by the noise of someone entering the room. "What...er..who....?"

Mayala exits the female dorms, slightly yawning. She gives a wave to Neliar as she spots a chair next to him and sits down in it. She wonders if he's talked to Shanel recently...hmm...best find out. "Hello, Liar," she says, slightly smiling, "How are you?" Start with the pleasantries first, yeah.

Neliar rubs at his eyes and slowly Mayala comes into focus. "oh Hi Mayala. I was er just reading." or napping more like it. "I'm fine." the shadow that flies across his face argues with this.

Mayala nods and sorta whispers, "Um...how have things between you and Nel been?" Yeah. She knows what happened and she's here to help out things...very helpful is Mala. Yup yup.

Neliar sighs deeply at the mention of Nel, he's trying not to think about her, but it's all he /can/ think about. "Not very well." wanting to confide in someone other than Iyan.

Mayala nods, "Yeah. I talked to her last night. I thought I'd talk to you about it and see if I can't help you out and make you feel a little better?" She shrugs and offers a comforting smile. Mala doesn't like to see her friends upset...and the thing about Navia can definitely wait.

Neliar glances over at Mayala. "you talked to her....did she say anything about me?" he kinda hopes she has, but he's really worried about what she might have to say to him.

Mayala nods, "I talked to her...and...she said you told her you love her? Is that true?" She'd like to make sure before she says anything else and such.
Neliar sighs and buries his head in his hands. A barely audible "yes." can be heard. He really wishes he'd never said anything to her.

Mayala nods and sorta Mmhmm's to herself. "Well, I asked her if I should speak to you and she said yes. So here I am. And from what I heard last night, and I listened well," very well, "I have come up with something that may help you not feel so bad." She smiles, very confident about what she's going to say, but not sure if what she recently said makes any sense at all...

Neliar takes his head out of his hands and looks at Mayala, eyes searching as if trying to find out what she is going to say through her expression. "what did she say?" he really needs to know.

Mayala shrugs and says, "Well, I actually asked her a few questions to see if she loves you back...and...well..." she sighs, not really wanting to tell this part of the story but it's better that way..."She apparently doesn't love you...but! She's very close to it." She smiles. Yeah. Nel could love Liar with a little time and that's just what she's going to tell her friend, "So here's what I have to say to you...Give her time. She's been really busy with trying to do her Journeyman project and this is all new to her. She cares for you very very much, and if you really do love her, you'll let her love you in her own time. Just be there for her and such. Don't rush things and just show her that you'll love her no matter what." There. Speech over with...now...for the reactions...

Neliar expression droops only for awhile as he listens to Mayala. Suddenly he finds himself rather cheerful, she like /me/ at least it's something. "she really said this to you?" hes so glad, he thought he'd lost her forever.

Mayala grins and nods, "Yup, you bet. See...there's nothing to worry about. You two will be fine. In fact, I'm sure everything will work out much better if you take it slow. I learned the hard way." She giggles, still remembering all the trouble she went through with Jerek...oy..

Neliar smiles at Mayala suddenly feeling a lot better about things. "Thanks for telling me." then impulsively gives her a quick hug. "you don't know how much this means to me."

Mayala giggles and hugs him back, "Your welcome. I'm sure everything will be fine. Now...there's one other thing I gotta mention to you..." she takes a deep breath and says, "It turns out Navia is definitely pregnant and she's due very soon. I haven't been able to talk to you lately and tell you." She shrugs, unsure if she's told him already or not.

Neliar breaks out into a huge grin. "you're sure." what a silly question, but she took him by surprise. Just think Adoran is going to be a daddy, the sly little pup. "What are you going to do with them?" He can't imagine the Jman being too happy about lots of little pups running around.

Mayala sighs and says, "Well, Jen's in Carise's room now. Carise really doesn't seem to mind having her in there since she's a well behaved canine. I think I'd like to keep a puppy though. What about you?"

Neliar grins, thinking that Jen will be well looked after by Carise. He thinks for a minute before making up his mind. "Yeah I'd love to have another dog." One more should not be too much trouble. Neliar remembers back to when Adoran was a pup. They had so much fun together.

Mayala grins and nods, "And...if she has more than two or something we'll have to see what happens." She shrugs, unsure of what she'd do...of course...there's always Seilyn if Keris will let her have another pet...

Neliar frowns. "I wonder if some other appies might like one?" Surely someone out there would like to have a dog of their own. He can think of a few people who he'd like to give one, if they would have it. "when do you think they'll come?" he hopes it will be soon, hes getting quite exited about the idea.

Mayala shrugs, "Within a month or so I believe. I can't remember exactly what the herder said." She's not good at remembering certain dates for some reason...

Neliar smiles. Wow in a few sevendays, they'll be lots of little Jen and Adorans running around the place. "I'm sorry that Adoran caused this in the first place, but it'll be great." At least if it's okay for them to keep the pups it will be.

Mayala giggles and says, "I dont mind really, just as long as the pups don't get in the way of my project...of course...if they do I have a friend who lives here at Gar...she might be able to take care of them, even if she's already taking care of a new runner she got." (of course that would be Azalea)

Neliar nods at Mayala, glad she's not upset about this, after all they did try to keep the canines apart. "I'll have to start working on mine soon, in fact I'm due to meet with Carise soon." He'd better get moving or he'll be late. He quickly hugs Mayala again. "Thank you for telling me about how Nel feels." it's really made him happy again. Letting go of her he quickly leaves the room.
